I really don't have anything more to add about writing on topic. When the "topic" is announced, I do a LOT of praying, and I ask God to give me inspiration, then I wait to see what happens and keep my eyes and ears open for ideas. I haven't tried "googling" for ideas. For some re...

Jan, what a great idea for your lessons. Love it.

As one in the "Advanced" but who feels like she really should have been in one of the lower two levels, I really appreciate your courses. I have learned SO much, (and hopefully) apply it.

I'm looking forward to each week's lesson.

This is from my writing challenge entry on “Phew”, “Am I Welcome At Walmart?”, as I had previously written it: Out of everything, we just had to get to the store. So we packed u[p our family of six and headed to Walmart. Patrick took Madison, 8, and Eli, 3, and headed for the Electronics Department...

Sherri, Carissa, and Amy love having their mother come visit; but Patrick, Chad, and Brian may prefer otherwise. However, my grandchildren--Madison, Olivia, Elijah, and Noah--love getting their grandmother's attention. My grandchildren are the following: Brandon, Tyler, Hunter, Marquel, Madison, Ale...

I didn't read ahead to see what others have said about this posting, so I'm not sure exactly what you want us to do. It seems to me that the dashes are used when it is something added that is not a necessary part of the sentence, perhaps for descriptive information. The semi-colons are used when joi...

Boy, do I feel dumb! I'm sorry, Ann, all this time I was looking at the wrong sentence. I was applying it to this sentence: "Eli told him you just have to follow the 'indrections.'" and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the pronouns! You said very clearly the first sentence and I m...

A tiny error in the first sentence, regarding a pronoun that's in the SUBJECTIVE CASE rather than the NOMINATIVE CASE. "Eli told him you just have to follow the 'indrections'." The rule for Quotes within Quotes is the period goes inside both sets of quotation marks. If you need a better e...

Thanks, that's good to know! Was it right to put "indrections" in quotes like that? I wasn't sure. I am learning so much from your class, Ann. Can't tell you how much I appreciate your lessons. I also wanted to say that I may be away for about ten days or so helping my youngest daughter pa...

Okay, here goes. Since I love to share stories about my grandchildren, I'll use a story that I've written for Jan's lesson as the base. ***** Carol got up to clear the table she had so carefully laid for she and her husband. "Amy called today," she said. "Little Eli was showing his da...
