Re: 2011 Page Turner Entry Tally

I am working as hard as my little brain and fingers can move.

Almost finished.

I have a question, though. Did you say it was okay to send two chapters if the chapters were on the short side?

Re: 2011 Page Turner Entry Tally

I've never written a synopsis before.

Would I include the ending. (Such a spoiler alert!)

Or just write the premise?

Re: Could be reason for less entries?

I dropped out of the Challenge this summer because, well, my children are home and I love them dearly but they are little black holes of need. I love it though, being a mom, and I gladly divert my writing energy toward them. The kids will be back to school mid next week, so you can bet your pants I'...

Re: Clear Point or Message

A person can be a Christian writer and not always write about Christian topics. I am a writer who is a Christian; I hope that my faith is evident in everything I write. Sometimes I may write about it in a very obvious way, and sometimes I may choose to be more subtle. But I'm no less Christian if m...

editing

I've never written a first draft that didn't belong in the cat litter box. For my writing -- editing is vital. In fact, most of my Challenge entries represent an eighth or ninth draft. Occasionally more. I read once, "Try to avoid using words and phrases that readers tend to skip over." An...

Nonfiction Conclusion

Here are the last 100+ words of my Challenge entry, What Would Jesus Tweet from the 'Think' Challenge: ...... It’s crucial that we spend a great deal of time with our children, remain interactive with them through and beyond adulthood, and show them they are important and loved. It’s imperative that...

@Glorybee To begin with an aside--how does one include a quote from another reply? In response to your response, "What do you think, though--how about a period instead of a semicolon?" I totally agree. You see, I was cheating, since you asked for only one sentence, and I simply could not c...

1)I once copied a title for a blog post. The title was 'Happiness is a Warm Gun'. The title came from a Beatles song from the 60's. They, in turn copied it from a magazine cover title, which had in turn been copied and parodied from a Peanuts title, "Happiness is a Warm Puppy." 2)I'm still...
