will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
Jesus says here that the Counselor, The Holy Spirit will come in His name to teach us all things and will remind us of what He said.
There is considerable peace in knowing that the Holy Spirit teaches us all things and reminds us of what Jesus said. It makes me
think without the Holy Spirit I wouldn't know what Jesus said or grow as a Christian. That's a scary thought.
When we lack peace in situations, it may be for lack of listening to the Holy Spirit. We may be listening to other spirits and they aren't
holy if you get my drift. It can be hard to hear the Holy Spirit when there is a severe thunderstorm in our lives. The rains fall, the high
winds blow and the large hail falls. We can easily be distracted from hearing the Holy Spirit.
PS 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
Real peace comes from realizing that God is in control. Even in the midst of the worst storms that may befall us. It is just a matter of
us being still long enough to realize it by listening to the Holy Spirit. When we fail to there won't be peace in our life's. What peace
there might be will only be temporary or built on circumstances.
Jesus went on in John 14:27 to say that we should not troubled or fearful. Nothing is more troubling or fearful than facing uncertainity.
There is a lot going around these days over world events and our economy. Regardless, the greatest peace we can have is the certainity
of eternal life in Christ Jesus and knowing that we never walk alone.
In the midst of storms, if you stand still and listen closely, you can hear Jesus speak those Words.
" Peace Be Still."
