Our parents want to get rid of us to go to a scary place called
school. We lay awake and in the excitement our mind wanders
over and over again and we think these thoughts.
Everyone we grew up with is there.
Learning new things we need to live with.
Everything is all in one room.
Meaningful experiences for all
Encouraging words by teachers and friends
New friends and new schedules
Teachers help us to adjust.
Activities that are fun and not so fun
Recess time can’t wait
Youth will be gone before we know it.
September school starts
Challenging math problems
Holidays hooray for the vacations.
Objections to doing homework
Observing, trying to figure out why I am here.
Lunch time-oh those horrible lunches.
We conclude after it’s all over that it wasn’t so bad and made
us the person we are today. We pass on or knowledge to generations
to come. Our legacy remains a part of the history of that first scool
we attended.
