In a land filled with rhyme
Lived a semi-sweet, nowhere near her prime,
Princess.
She had a plan: a man
A knight- Senor Right.
Sure enough
One charged into her life
And took her as his wife.
To the place of his estate,
A condo in the city, ah the pity.
No castle-hassle he
The only moat began with re.
He was not cheap
But he was free
And she could see
And saw
A flaw, Sir,
Then hired a lawyer.
Done with him (her shining whim)
She reassessed her situation.
Grim this mess, this stress, but nonetheless
She soldiered on,
Not one for condemnation
Looking, cooking, finally hooking
Husband two, who
Adored her smile…for a while
Then hopped a train
Which caused her pain
But
She recovered just in time
To catch another on the rebound
For the third round.
He was her mission
But soon suspicion made his mate
Investigate and sure enough
There was
Something funny about his money.
Feds swooped down without a sound
Inviting spouse (the louse)
To the BIG house.
They locked him up, she let him go.
Oh, such a blow,
But at the store she picked up four.
A handsome dude
With attitude
He soon departed
She, broken-hearted
Decided to
Do something new,
And strange, a real smart change.
So, in search
She went to church
And found a way to wash the sin of men
And what she’d been
Right off of her.
.
God kept his promise to make her whole
She focused on the word-her goal
Never seeking guy or prince
She left that back in her past tense.
She grew into
God’s woman who
Could hold her own
Though still alone
She never sought or even caught
The eye of fellow, bad or good
None understood
Her great emotion, her deep devotion
This pure behavior for her Savior
Then one Sunday, in her pew
Right on cue,
Some male was singing bold and strong
She heard the tenor of this winner
And looked up sweetly
Where God so neatly
Made them each feel
Something quite real
So dear and true
They could not hide
They stood beside each happy
Knowing God was showing
A better way, a brand new day.
They smiled and talked and finally
Walked hand in hand
Down the aisle into HIS plan
So forgiven, so complete
And miles to go before their sleep
In her journal kept for years
Praise abounded, gone were tears
And in their place
A happy face
There is an end to selfish sinnings
When you reach for new beginnings
Throw the old from East to West
And keep the rest, the part that’s best.
The lasting word
From God she heard
(And you may quote
This anecdote)
Simply reads,
“That’s All,” she wrote!
