God tells us in His Word to “be still”, “be quiet”, and to “come to a quiet place”. In doing so, we will be able to hear God’s whispers. He will speak softly to our heart, as a friend whispering a secret into our ear, when we become still enough to hear. In our busy, fast paced world today, it is difficult to find a quiet, still place to go, but we must keep that connection with God.
God’s whispers are personal and intimate, so that secret place we must find. He will whisper words to you that you do not want the whole world to hear, at least not in that moment. He will whisper His love to you. He will whisper forgiveness. He will whisper encouragement and strength. He will whisper joy and contentment.
Child of God, you cannot live with any peace in your heart without God’s whispers. Find a place where you can be quiet and alone with God, where you can hear His whispers to you. So where can you find that special place? Look around you. Maybe it is soft, comfy chair after the children are put to bed. Maybe it will be a walk through a park or a wooded hillside. Maybe it will be a special spot on the beach, Maybe it will be a swing or bench in your flower garden. Or, it could be right in the middle of hectic chaos going on all around you when you quiet your heart before God and listen.
