However, it is essential when being labelled that we are attached the correct label for what we believe. If a Christian doesn’t live a life trying to avoid sin and do good for others then what is he or she achieving? I would argue nothing. If anything this fake label attached to a supposed Christian can do no more than damage the reputation of others attempting to spread the true word. A recent case in the news was the homosexual bishop in America being appointed, which from a biblical point of view is specifically pointed out to be wrong. Arguably this appointment sends a message that Christians now don’t have any issue with homosexuals, which is clearly far from the truth. It is therefore essential that when Christians are being labelled that we are all singing from the same hymn sheet so that we can move forward as a single unit under the might of God.
A label can be a positive or a negative thing. I personally attempt to thrive in my label instead of fearing it I embrace it. If someone thinks that I am trying to convert them to a cult then I will try to prove them wrong, if someone believes my views to be unreasonable and illogical then I will argue through the night and if someone wants to label me then I will go to the ends of the earth to make sure that label is what I believe is the truth. As long as we love God with all of our hearts then we will be glad when “a lot of people ask” us “stupid questions”.
