Reality hits me with a force
I'm walking on the shore of Galilee
Where six years ago I walked
The shore is worn with age
Rock and small shells line its edge
Its surface disappears back into land
That cradles the lake like a child
I choose a large rock to set upon
Where I can look over the lake
And watch it's surrounding come alive
The wind causes the water to ripple
Sounds of the waves fills my spirit
As I set here in a restful state
Watching as the seagulls float high about the water
They circle and glide upon the air peacefully
The suns bright light rises above the water
Causing beautiful colors to dance upon its surface
A lizard dashes across the ground
A bird chatters noisily
As if scolding me for invading it's space
I set and watch the sunlight
As it fills all the empty space
I am reminded of another light
The Light Of The World
A Light that brought hope out of despair
Joy out of sorrow and suffering
The Light that healed the blind and lame
Made the dead to rise
Tear drops filled my eyes
As I remembers how that Light
Suffered and died for our sins
That we might come forth from the darkness
Into the Light of God grace
That Light was the Man from Galilee
The one that was cruelly beaten
Who wore a crown of thrones
And was crucified at Calvary
He shed his blood upon that tree
To bring the Light of Salvation
To wash away sins and strife
As I sat there I felt the Hand of Jesus
I realized I was weeping and couldn't stop
I shuttered with each tear that fell
That day I came through the darkness of my past
Into the Light of God wonderful grace and mercy
I will never forget that blessed trip to Israel
And the events that happened that beautiful morning
Where through the darkness I walked
Guided by the Light.
