God and I at sunset
Take a walk
Across the beads of sand...
There we walk and share
In the Holy language
Of prayer...
We look and absorb
The beauty of the place
As I am mightly blessed
By my Father's grace...
We stand and view the sunset
Amidst the ocean spray...
Then in awe we wait
For the beauty in tomorrow
And the break of day...
As the sun goes down
I glance behind me there
To view
The prints by the sea...
There I am amazed to find
ONLY
The footprints made by me...
It is a reminder
That God is always there
Even though Him
I may not see...
I rest in His promise
That He will walk with me
Now
And into
Eternity...

I've always felt that sunsets were God's special gift to me. It is my favorite thing to watch and to glorify Him for (an in the moment type of thing).

"Only the footprints made by me", yet "He was there all the time" as an old song goes. How awesome God is! I enjoyed this.

A lovely poem. I misread a bit "mightily blessed", I read as "mightily dressed". I liked the idea of God dressing us in His grace. Then I realised i had misread it.

Again you've done it. You've put words to inner feelings that are truly inspiring. How awesome it is when we realize that God is always with us. Carol Jo

I loved your "holy language" term!
I lived near the coast for a long time, and now, having moved, it's the only think I miss from that place - a walk with the Lord along the beach at sunset.
Thanks for the memories.
