Off to go
We went afar
Carrying our Jesus
In our hands...
We went to share
His love
To needy foreign lands...
Joy was the exchange
For the love we gave
As to home
We did return
And in our hearts
We did save --
Save the blessing
We had gained --
Save the love within
As we left behind
A part of ourselves
In the love we shared
As friend to friend...
To Panama City
To Buffalo New York
To Portland Maine
The path we took
Was chosen by our God
And in the path
We found no loss
But only Holy gain...

Nicely done. Good flow. I liked the line, "Joy was the exchange".

very nice. reminded me of the old hymn where we bring our "sheaves" back with us.

It is indeed wonderful to go on a mission - of labor, of love, in one's own country and in other lands as well. May your "Mission" be an inspiration to one and all.

What beauty is your poetry. Juanita, I hope you post this on the main article screen so that others might enjoy this as much as I did.
