Could you put any faith in a 75 year old man – who is not a CEO of any multinational firm, nor the president of any prestigious clubs or organizations?

Well, I think so. I was taking martial arts class years ago – and I was remarking how long it would take to advance - and this individual wisely stated, “You already have a black belt in life”.
I always remembered that, and I think that is about as good an intro I can make.

I do have a Black Belt in Life – and I am eager to show you some of the `moves’ I have learned.
Corny? I suppose so. But, it is true!
Is it possible that some individuals have lived a charmed life – and don’t fully realize it?

I think so. In fact, I believe that to some degree – we all have lived charmed lives – at one point or another, in some fashion or other.

When you do realize it, it seems that the only proper thing to do – is to balance the scales by giving something back.

As an example, I had such an easy time in the army – that I now volunteer time (and have done so for over 6 years) working with veterans who have PTSD.

These poor guys and gals have suffered from the trauma of war – and it is my way of giving back.

I will bet that you too, have some kind of debt to pay back. There is a huge surprise involved in this; when you give back – you get far more than you could ever possibly give.

Isn’t that an interesting fact?

The huge side benefit of this philosophy of life – is that when you fully realize and accept the checks and balances of life, the peaks and valleys of life – it makes the valleys go by easier, because you know without a doubt that there is a great peak waiting for you.

Someone very close to me was applying for a very prestigious position a while back – and ultimately did not get it.

I texted him with this message,
“You must have something go good waiting for you down the line – that you should be very, very excited. To lose something this big – means something even bigger is waiting for you. You lucky dog!”

Pollyannish? Nope. It worked out exactly like that.

So why all this philosophizing when this supposed to be a biography?
Because our philosophy is who we are!
