Now that I am semi-retired, I am able to pursue a life-long ambition to write. I was thrilled many years ago to have my first work published in a Christian news magazine and get paid for it! I have since published several articles in print and for websites. I spend time almost every day writing inspirational stories, biographies, and messages.
I am the pastor and founder of North Columbia Church, which meets at Evans Chrisian Academy, 213 South Old Belair Road, Grovetown, GA 30813.
I earned my B.A. degree from William Carey College in Biblical Studies and a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I have done post-graduate work at Augusta State University and Erskine Theological Seminary.
I am in my 40th year of pastoral work having pastored my first church when I was 20.
Most of my pastoral career has been as a bi-vocational pastor. It was tough doing both which really was two full jobs. Plus, I also coached baseball and fast-pitch softball. Whewww!
I taught 8th grade Language Arts and Georgia History for nine years in the Columbia County (Georgia) School System and administered the 21st Century Program for Warren County Schools for two years.
I currently teach World History at Evans Christian Academy part time.
I am a Christian free-lance writer and have been published in several Christian magazines. I write frequently for the oldest newspaper in the South, The Augusta Chronicle, for their weekly Faith Page. Former U.S. Open Golf Champion, Tom Lehman, gave me an interview for an article that was published in the paper during the Master's Golf Tournament. I have also interviewed and published a story of PGA golfer Ben Crane. Those were neat experiences for me. Kind of awesome to say the least! Both men are committed Christians.
I write, edit, and publish a Christian devotional newsletter which is sent across the United States.
I am a Georgia native. I was born in Athens, GA, and spent most of my childhood and teen years in Carrollton. I have been in Columbia County since 1983 after pastoring churches in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Louisiana. I am married and reside in Appling, GA, near Augusta. I have three grown children and three grandchildren.
