Retired police sergeant turned Christian freelance writer, married 24 years.

Father of five adult children, four adult stepchildren, grandfather to twenty-two, and great grandfather of five.

Serves part-time as a church custodian, enjoys writing and playing the guitar.

I was born and raised in Council Bluffs Iowa (read my poem "Harmony Hills"),graduated high school in 1963 and later that same year entered into my first marriage.

In 1969 I joined the Council Bluffs police department, and during my tenure with that agency, served in many phases of police duties including: uniform patrol, detention, criminalistics (C.S.I.), crime prevention and community relations.

In '72, I asked Jesus Christ into my heart at the altar of a small Baptist church, however; it would be some 20 years later before I would begin giving Him control of my life.

Toward the end of the 70's I moved my family to Red Oak, Iowa, where I joined that police department, and in 82 was promoted to the rank of sergeant. It was about that time that my first marriage began to unravel, ultimately ending with the desertion of my wife in 84, but also about that same turbulent time, God began to prepare me for a happy future beyond the pain and betrayal of desertion, (Read my short story: "Seeds of Promise").

In November of 84, I met Debbie,(read: "All Things For The Good") and after a wonderful seven-month courtship, she honored me by becoming my wife in June of 85. We started our "blended family", five children of mine…four of hers (that's another whole story in itself), and as of today we are blessed with 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Read: ("Grandpa's Adventure")

After nearly 25 years in police service, I developed a non-operable cardiac condition, was placed on strong medications and extensive physical limitations, forcing me to take a medically ordered, early retirement from police work. In 2003 I began
writing as a Christian freelancer. From 2006 until November 2008, I wrote a weekly column for Ezra Publications (ezraweb.com)and was a monthly contributor to "A Time To Love" Christian Magazine. I am at present in search of a new writing assignment.

Debbie and I have now been happily married for 24 years, We attend church services at Cornerstone Fellowship, and I further serve as Trustee and custodian for Faith Community church in Red Oak.
