The only thing I need to do is come up with an angle. You know, figure out what exactly I want to say. That’s when I realize I have already used up about ten percent of the space I had available. So, I guess I should get down to it and write something meaningful. It’s not like I have lots of words to spare. The truth is, at this point I only have six hundred and twenty eight left.
I suppose I could talk about restaurants. After all, they are in the business of order fulfillment. Sometimes they do a great job and bring me food that is actually worth the hard earned cash I have to cough up for such repast. Other times I’m certain they are trying to pawn off chicken jerky while calling it gourmet. I wouldn’t buy that stuff for my dog, but there’s apparently no ‘return’ policy on chicken leather.
Maybe I should write about a warehouse. They’re in the business of product fulfillment. Imagine this - some guy in Maine orders a lobster pot from a guy in Maryland and another guy in the warehouse finds the product, boxes it up and hands it off to some delivery guy who sends it on to the guy in Maine who has a hankering for frustrated crustaceans.
I suppose this might be interesting if, in fact, the lobster hunter were to find himself branded for life by the pinchers of a rogue outlaw type lobster with a penchant for inflicting forced body piercing. Yet, who would believe such a tale?
I have to come up with something meaningful about the subject at hand, but I still have time. To this point I have only used a paltry three hundred and fifty three words. I have more than half of my allotted words to amaze and astound with brilliant insights.
I write articles that demand a specific word count everyday so this isn’t a burden, it’s not a hardship, it’s not even akin to the insane screeching of fingernails on chalkboard. This is just an assignment that brings together wit and wisdom in one place to delineate the many facets of fulfillment and, of course, allows me to do so with style and substantive language that lines up with my desire to illuminate an audience on the intricate nature of a subject that is largely overlooked and little understood.
How to describe fulfillment? Well, I suppose it could be looked at from the perspective of one who provides a promise and then initiates the process of executing said promise. Yet, the other unique and delicate understanding is for one to become so full of something wonderful that you can do little else, but express profound gratitude.
I know you are probably wondering why it has taken so long to finally get to the point where the actual subject is being addressed in a rational way. I’m afraid it would take too long to explain because at this point I only have one hundred and seventy five words left in which to alternately amuse and enlighten - even less, now that I’ve taken the time to explain.
I suppose one of the more radically pleasant forms of fulfillment comes in the knowledge that you are doing what you were created to do. That knowledge comes in understanding what may seem God’s elusive will for your life and, of course, that can only happen as you dig through God’s Word and pray. Do the things He’s already commanded and when it’s time to do something new He’ll let you know. Then, in the midst of obedience comes fulfillment, and fulfillment brings about a sense of sheer joy because you’ve found your sense of purpose.
Oh, there are so many things I wanted to say, so many stories I wanted to share, possibly even a songfest down by some remote body of water with a slightly out of tune guitar to guide us through a well worn rendition of Kum Ba Ya, yet it was not meant to be, for I have been felled by the lumberjack of word limits and my musings must of necessity end. I have done the best I could - I am fulfilled.

A deadline everyday huh? :0)
Anyway...cute.
This was REALLY funny: "This is just an assignment that brings together wit and wisdom in one place to delineate the many facets of fulfillment and, of course, allows me to do so with style and substantive language that lines up with my desire to illuminate an audience on the intricate nature of a subject that is largely overlooked and little understood."
WHEW! :-)
