In fact, I’m a ‘natural’. . . .
“Did you eat all, except a crumb,
Of my fresh apple pie?”
“That you would even think I did,
I can’t imagine why.”
“How do you like my brand new dress?
Will it be right for me.”
“If you like really colorful,
I’m certain it will be.”
“Would you support this noble cause?
Indeed, it is quite worthy.”
“I’m sure it is, but sad to say,
I have no money with me.”
“Today I baked a rhubarb cake.
I’d love for you to try it.”
“I’m guessing it’s delicious, but
I just went on a diet.”
“I thought the pastor preached too long.
Is that what you thought, too?”
“I didn’t have my watch with me.
What time did he get through?”
“Won’t you come hear my son’s new band
In concert at the park?”
Although I’ve plans already made,
It’s bound to be a lark.”
“What do you think of my new poem,
My first try at a sonnet?”
“I’ve never studied poetry,
So I can’t comment on it.”
So, there it is, and now you know:
A ‘natural’—I told you so.
