When preparing for company; I dust, sweep and free my home of clutter.
Today, I choose to clear my mind of harmful thoughts.
Have I unknowingly set out a welcome mat at the entranceway to my mind?
Satan and his cohorts will try to slither in unnoticed.
“When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it roams through waterless places looking for rest, and not finding rest, it then says, ‘I’ll go back to my house where I came from.’ And returning, it finds the house swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that man’s last condition is worse than the first (Luke 11:24-26 HCSB).”
Jesus has cleansed me of sin; I have drunk of His living water. I refuse to grant evil spirits free access.
Am I entertaining thoughts of anger and bitterness from my past?
“You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires; you are being renewed in the spirit of your minds; you put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.
Since you put away lying, Speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger, and don’t give the Devil an opportunity (Ephesians 4:22-28a HCBB).”
