By careless words and deeds
When one completely disregards
Another’s wants or needs.
Plans and dreams, like dandelions
Scattered by the wind,
All dissipate when hope is gone,
And won’t return again.
The human spirit mended,
Once damaged by neglect,
Like broken china that’s repaired,
Still has a slight defect.
Just like an egg that’s dropped upon
A hard ceramic floor,
Is innocence that’s been destroyed
And cannot be restored.
Like delicate porcelain, peace
Falls all apart and shatters
When warring countries battle for
Control or other matters.
The heart, like a tender flower
With petals bruised and torn,
When love has been too long abused,
Is wounded and forlorn.
A reputation, pure and clean,
Like crystal light snowflakes,
Is dirtied by the mud it’s in
When one a wrong path takes.
The soul, most fragile thing of all's,
Designed to pay the cost
Of following the one true God,
Or all else will be lost.
