Burn baby burn, you old oak log.
Your fragrant odor brings back memories.
Of chilled winter nights amid a frosty fog.
Pop crackle, pop crackle, pop, pop, pop.
My cabin windows begin to sweat.
Rivulets form on the warm-cold panes,
Frozen on the outside, the inside wet.
Pop crackle, pop crackle, pop, pop, pop.
I stare into the embers of fiery red.
Reliving memories of days gone past.
Snuggling in the quilt of my old bed.
Pop crackle, pop crackle, pop, pop, pop.
Those old thoughts just keep on coming,
My mind drifts away to better days,
When I could always hear the drum, drum, drumming.
Pop crackle, pop crackle, pop, pop, pop.
I stare into the coals of past pale dreams,
Of my yesterday’s spring times,
Amid my lost youth’s streams.
Pop crackle, pop crackle, pop, pop, spew!
I stare out the window as they begin to drizzle,
My thoughts are growing weary now,
Pop crackle, pop crackle, fizzle...fizzle… fizzle.

You brought me along on your wonderful reverie of younger days adrift in a mind vision that elicited strong emotions.
Thank you for sharing this with us...I truly enjoyed the brilliance behind the imagery and meaning.
This should "stoke" the fires of the judges for sure!
May Blessings to you~
