Someone carelessly left a window ajar. The culprits are Satan and his demonic hordes. God finds the devil guilty of breaking and entering.
“When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it roams through waterless places looking for rest, and not finding rest, it then says, ‘I’ll go back to my house where I came from.’ And returning, it finds the house swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that man’s last condition is worse than the first (Luke 11:24-26 HCS).”
God, in His foreknowledge destined man to be a mansion. He alone holds the key. By design, He made man to be a permanent home for His Holy Spirit.
The misinformed man tries self improvement.
Beelzebub welcomes the chance to occupy. He fetches his cronies, hangs his hat and settles in for the kill.
Jesus spoke of the arch enemy.
“A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance (John 10:10 HCS).”
And what about that window left ajar?
“Since you put away lying, Speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger, and don’t give the Devil an opportunity (Ephesians 4:25-27 HCS).”
Sneaky Satan sees any un-confessed sin as an opportune area for entry.
“Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7 HCS).”
