The last few weeks at work had been especially stressful, though she was grateful to God for her job. She made good money, whereas this time last year she barely had a penny to her name. God had opened the door to a great opportunity when He led her to her current employment as a computer operator for a large corporation. All her hard work at night school had finally paid off.
In the past few years, Sarah had worked hard. Between waiting tables all day and going to school at night, she had almost forgotten her role as a Christian. She stopped attending church services regularly and prayed less often. The past year at her current job often left her drained and depressed. She intended to use this vacation to reunite herself with Christ, and meditate on the words her Christian mother had always used.
“Don’t ever lose your faith, dear. Without it, you will have nothing. Always love and worship Christ, and He will give you peace.”
Peace was something Sarah had somehow lost. As she drove along Highway 90 towards Mobile, Alabama, she remembered the one thing she dreaded most was up ahead. The Mobile tunnel that would take her to Florida was especially daunting to her. Driving through that narrow, underwater tunnel always made her somewhat nervous. As she entered, she told herself she was being silly, it was only a tunnel!
Sarah said a prayer and drove slowly and cautiously. All was going well until, suddenly, the tunnel went dark and all she could see was a light at the end. It happened so fast her senses went numb. As she came to the end and out of the other side, the world changed as if from night to day. She found herself on a road with lakes and streams and beautiful flowers. What in the world had happened?
At this point, Sarah noticed she was no longer driving along in her car, but rather drifting by a current carrying her along a gold paved road. Up above, she saw the spirit of her mother, seemingly with open arms, coming toward her.
Mother! Mother had been dead for five years! All at once, Sarah felt the warmth and love of the woman who had given her birth, and Sarah knew she had somehow been reunited with her. Tears of joy flooded her eyes, and all she could see was bright lights, and then -- the Man!
The Man was dressed in a white robe, with a spectacular crown upon His head. Sarah knew at once the Him to be Jesus, but instead of opening His arms, He only smiled and said, “Dear Sarah, you must go back. It is not your time, yet.”
Sarah woke to hear a stranger’s voice. “She’s coming around, Doctor! She’s waking up!”
Suddenly, Sarah had a blinding headache as she remembered her dream. Where was she? She tried to speak, but all she could do was cough. Finally, the words came out, “Where am I? Who are you?”
A lady dressed in white with a cap on gently took her hand and said, “You are in a hospital, dear, and I am your nurse. You were in a terrible auto accident in the Mobile tunnel, and you have been in a coma for the last few days. We feared we had lost you.”
So, it wasn’t a dream. Sarah understood now. She had crossed over last night, to see her mother and Jesus! She tried to tell the nurse about it, only to be pooh-poohed. “Ah, dear, you only had a dream.”
Sarah knew better. What a vacation! In the days to come, Sarah forgot all about the sandy beaches of Florida. She would save her money for better things, like tithing in the Church. She thanked God for giving her another chance at life, and a better one it would be.
When Sarah recovered, she started going to church again, and rededicated her life to Christ. She vowed to love Him with all her heart.
Who needed Florida? Sarah had peace. She had Jesus Christ.

Great job with the topic in this poignant and memorable piece...She found Christ and that's all she needs in her life...and what a gift she had seeing the other dimension.
Fantastic read!
God bless~
My neice recently was in a comma from drinking too much. I believe our prayers saved her life. However, though I prayed for her to see Jesus, it didn't happen. She is more rebellious now than ever. I abelive our prayer will bring her to Jesus in time.
Blessings, LaVonne
