That I at least have my warm cloak, and moreover, the comfort of your presence.
I thank You that Luke, Timothy, Mark, and other brothers and sisters here in Rome
Spend this final night in unity with me in prayer.
We have had wonderful fellowship these past few weeks,
Even with my final trial, and Nero's death sentence
Looming ahead.
Lord, help me to face it with the courage with which You have sustained me thus far.
With the undergirding of your Spirit
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
To be absent from my body will be presence with You,
Heavenly fellowship for all eternity.
My prayer is for those who carry on the work of the gospel,
Your grace available to all who will trust You.
Send these who have been my faithful companions
Out to the ends of the earth to proclaim the wonderful news,
Unafraid of what man is able to do to their bodies.
Lord, I give my body and soul in to your keeping, surrounded by your peace. Amen.
