Topic: Lock and Key (08/21/14)
Loving with a heart that's locked,
Fear and anger sealed inside,
Feelings can't become unblocked,
An asylum where the pain can hide.

Wandering through the world in tears,
Lonely people gathering dust,
Walk alone for years and years,
Locks are filled with browning rust.

Wondering where compassion went,
For those who yearn do not to believe,
Lives who pay with emptiness spent,
Love's trust their hearts cannot perceive.

Searching in the morning’s sun,
For something worthy to be felt,
A place for love’s will to be done,
Play the wild cards life has dealt.

Knowing not about love’s ways,
Inside a heart stands silent, breaking,
Pain brings dark and desperate days,
Tears and fears are for the taking.

Praying comes late, a final resort,
When all else has still been tried,
Pleas call out for God’s due comfort,
In the end, their souls have cried.

Pleading for another chance,
At knowing how to feel alive,
Suddenly, they sing and dance,
In God’s spirit, love can thrive.

Reaching for the key to peace,
Jesus Christ unlocks their hearts,
Pain and heartache cease to be,
At last the loneliness departs.

This touched my heart! What a loving touching and genuine affirmation of the Father's love and healing process.

This was an inspirational poem that I will print out and hand out to several of my acquaintances.

Such a strong message you bring here. I love the second stanza the most:

"Lonely people gathering dust, walk alone for years and years."

That is such a visceral image for me.

Great work! I too will carry this one with me for a while.

Oh wow, I love this one! It reaches right into the reader and touches those feelings we've all had at times. I don't know much about the mechanics of poetry, but this is really beautiful!
