Pillow talk had been replaced by the rapid onslaught of snoring when we lay our heads down. Mornings were quiet, as the need for caffeine far outweighed the space for dialogue, but enough was enough. I had to do something.
I would make the first move to return to the use of verbalized thoughts: where facial expression and body posture were as much part of meaningful communication as the English syntax, if not more so.
But how would I reach her? We rarely frequented the same places anymore, but I had to try.
I thought about it long and hard. What words would I use? Should I spill my heart, with a river of words from the open gates of the reservoir of my soul, or would less be more in this situation?
I went to the last place I saw her and finally worked up the courage to type these words, “Whatcha doin’?” With a trembling hand, I clicked “Post.”
My heart leaped for joy as within seconds she responded… looking up from behind her laptop screen at me sitting across the living room at my laptop and said, “Idiot.”

I hate to comment and contribute to you falling off the wagon, George (read his brick post on the forums if you don't get that comment), but your delightfully funny story forced my hand with a single word: "Idiot".
However, I cannot help you with your addiction to red ink...I simply don't have any for you. Sorry.
God bless~
As red ink, I thought I would like to see a stronger start with a bigger hook. but I was wrong and applied the red ink to self. The rhythm of the whole thing was perfect.
Blessings, Graham.
