This was so powerful. It was a poignant read. I liked the ending , "I thought you should know he's home." That said it all.

Great writing.

God bless~

This story is a perfect example of how each life touches another. In life daily decisions are made that turn us sometimes from a good path to a destructive one because of the company we keep.
My mind was full of questions at the end--why did the mom keep the truth of their father from the boys--the difference it might have made if the older brother had stood up for Stanley and showed real concern for him--what about the other brother--
And so the emotion I felt was sadness for this boy/man for lost relationships---but happy that he found God before he died. This story moved me and that's good writing.

You kept that ending completely under cover until exacly the right moment.
Excellent construction with great emotional profiles. This should rate very well.
Congratulations on placing 9th in your level and 11 overall! (The highest rankings can be found on the message boards)
