He didn't have to.
The stars and the moon,
Planets and comets
God made the universe so...
Marvelous.
But He didn't have to.

He didn't have to.
The mountains and valleys,
Sunrises and sunsets.
God made Earth so...
Beautiful.
But He didn't have to.

He didn't have to.
Each time Israel disobeyed,
God left a remnant.
He acted so....
Faithfully.
But He didn't have to.

He didn't have to.
Born in a manger,
Not fit for a King.
He came to earth so...
Humbly.
But He didn't have to.

He didn't have to.
Died on a cruel cross,
Rose again the third day.
He defeated death and sin so...
Completely.
But He didn't have to.

He didn't have to.
In Him we live and move
And have our being.
Christ gives us life so...
Abundantly.
But He didn't have to.

He didn't have to.
From the beauty of creation
To the glory of salvation
God gives us so many...
Extras.
But He didn't have to.

This is a beautiful poem. If only more of us could find the time to rest during busy days, and thank our Lord for all the goodness he provided in our lives, because he didn't have to. Keep up the great words. I too pray over my writing, to the Holy Spirit.
