Well, OK. It’s only an outline and two chapters, now, but I’ve got the whole story inside my head and with God’s help, I believe it will be a great book when I’m done.
Right now, I’ve got to get the laundry done and hope Lydia naps long enough for me to clean the kitchen. Once Roger gets home, we’ll eat dinner. If he’s not too tired, I can get a few more chapters done tonight. The story isn’t going anywhere, and I’ll get back to it as soon as I can.

The future bestseller looks a little thicker than it did a few months ago.
I’ve gotten about 10 chapters done. My leading lady is surprising me; I thought I knew everything about her and her story, but as the story unwinds, it goes in directions I hadn’t expected.
Well, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. The book is a reflection of a dreamed-up life, but real life doesn’t always turn out the predictably, either. I’m so blessed with sweet little Lydia, but she’s going through teething now so I haven’t been able to sleep much – or find much time for writing. It feels as though it’s taking so long!
But, I trust the Lord. I know if I’m meant to write this, He’ll find the time and He’ll find a way.

I had to move the future bestseller to a box, now that I’m halfway done.
The story is coming along, piece by piece. I’m learning to fit it in between taking Lydia to daycare and running to the store, the cleaners and the dentist. The rest of my story is still inside my head and I loved seeing it come out on the computer. It’s fun to see my characters described in words; it feels so satisfying having their stories turn into words. I’m looking forward to sharing it with those who will read it.
My life gets busier every day, but I still truly believe my unfinished story will be a real book, someday.

The future bestseller is still sitting in its box. I haven’t written in months; it’s so frustrating.
Roger lost his job; his company went bankrupt and he’s having trouble finding something in his field. All he could find was a job at the grocery store. Thank God for that, but the salary is so low and I can tell he really hates it.
I had to get a job – so there went all my free time. Thank God Lydia loves her pre-school so I don’t have to worry about her.
I’ll get back to the story as soon as I can. God is faithful and I believe He’ll still help me find a way to do it.

Last night, I typed “the end” on the last page of the future bestseller. I can hardly believe it!
This morning after Lydia gets on the school bus, I’ll put it in the mail to “my” editor. Yes, I’m proud to say: I know a real editor. I met her at a writing workshop; a friend of mine used her editing service. According to my friend, she’s helped lots of people get their books ready for publishing. She seems really friendly; I can only hope she’ll see how much love and effort I’ve put into my story. All these years, and it will finally leave its box and become a real book!
I thank God for letting me finish it – and trust Him to help me take the next step. After all these years of working on it, I feel strange letting it go. But, I have to. So…Godspeed my story to wherever He wants it to go!
