Just filled with calories and fat.
With onion rings did I begin
And spicy sauce to dip them in.
My fresh green salad, I’m confessing,
Had croutons crowned with blue cheese dressing.
Of chicken soup, I had a bowl,
As well as soft white dinner roll.
With pork ribs, honey barbecued,
Were apples with brown sugar stewed.
The French fries were a crisp delight,
Their cheddar topping, “outta sight.”
I ate no green beans, corn, or peas,
Sans salt, sans seasoning, sans cheese.
But there were vegetables sautéed
In cream and butter, I’m afraid.
Dessert time I just had to try
Both cheesecake and some pecan pie.
I topped it all with almond coffee
And caramel and chocolate toffee.
Ohhh, how I had a stomach ache…
Till suddenly did I awake.
I’d dreamed my dinner, rich foods packed,
My diet started, still intact.
