Aurora borealis drapes the skies
While in the leaden distances, one lonely she-wolf calls
This barren loveliness is God’s surprise
Aurora borealis drapes the skies
My heart, a frozen prairieland, knows desolation, too
This barren loveliness is God’s surprise
In countless shades of white and grey, in pale and shadowed hue
My heart, a frozen prairieland, knows desolation, too
Yet with God’s touch, strange beauty is revealed
In countless shades of white and grey, in pale and shadowed hue
And with His breath, the icy patches yield
Yet with God’s touch, strange beauty is revealed
Who would have thought that richness could in emptiness be found?
And with His breath, the icy patches yield
So tundra—heart and prairie--becomes consecrated ground
Who would have thought that richness could in emptiness be found?
Far, far away, one lonely she-wolf calls
So tundra—heart and prairie--becomes consecrated ground
On Yukon’s plain, a single snowflake falls

Just gorgeous! A beautiful tribute to Canada.
Love the title, too. :)
