To set sail on the silver ribbon unfurled by the moon
From this side of heaven with measured toil
To multifarious days of joy
I sense the waves of thirty thousand days
Have lost their strength and weak the fraying cord
That connects me to my long lived past
That was never meant to last
Oh to hear the evil beast is finally vanquished
With his tools of sin and shame, doubt and fear
His pirate arrows of misery in the fight
That blinded loved ones from the light
But oh! Upon the other blessed side of forever
Where what has always been will always be
Steadfast love and mercy unbounded
Abundant grace lavished unfounded
The Navigator knows the day of my departure
He’ll blow the wind into the waiting sails
He’ll put His hand upon the wheel
My future and His promise sealed
Ah! To make port and walk the golden streets
Where a sea of glass shimmers His good pleasure
Where every breath is worship fine
And there with joy joins mine
I long to cut loose from the shore of finite time
