You walk the channels of the night
You bring me everlasting light
You open up dark eyes to sight
You are the expert who is right.
You give me strength to join the fight
You have the everlasting might
To take me to the highest height
You are the expert who is right.
You bring me words that I might cite
You stimulate what I should write
You help me through the black and white
You are the expert who is right.
You calm me down when I’m uptight
You settle me with peace at night
You help me trim what I might bite
You are the expert who is right.
Slip it sideways….
You keep me from the slippery slope
You free me from the tangled rope
Your gracious yes is never nope
You are the expert who can cope
Move it on up….
You help me when I take my stand
Your life is rich and never bland
You reach out with an open hand
You are the expert who has planned
You teach me life with your command
You guard my heart so I withstand
You build me up for life’s demand
You are the expert who has planned
You share your grace across this land
You weave all life across one strand
You give us hope on sea and sand
You are the expert who has planned
You reap praise from harp and baby grand
You give us work for cash in hand
You teach us truth to understand
You are the expert who has planned
You walked upon this holy land
You lived with heart and human gland
You spoke of love that was not canned
You are the expert who has planned.
Slow it into motion…
You stretched out on that bloodied cross
You filled your heart up with our loss
You showed us all who was the boss
You are the expert with no sin to toss
Coax it on a little more…
You rose on up and gave the clue
You were the one who paid my due
You paid my penalty right through
You are the expert one who knew
You reach out still when life’s askew
You touch my soul and then renew
My infant mind you always grew
You are the expert one who knew
You challenge wealth when I accrue
You whisper ‘til your word breaks through
You prompt me just to give a few
You are the expert one who knew
You see me rest on polished pew
You watch me don my Sunday shoe
You hear my prayer for life anew
You are expert one who knew
You prompt my deep and real thank you
You trim my pride and fear subdue
You open words that share how to
You are the expert one who knew
Rest on easy now… praise on steady.
