Just A Mother
Lord, I am just a mother,
My impact very small,
My world made up of just four walls,
I don't feel ten feet tall.
The world goes on around me
While I just spin my wheels,
The tasks that must be done today,
Tomorrow...same old spiel.
I dreamed of being used by You,
Of mountains I would climb,
But rush through all my household chores
Before it's supper time.
But when I look into the eyes
Of those I love the best,
Thanksgiving fills me every time,
I know that I am blessed.
I see the future in their eyes,
Of all that they'll become--
Lights in the darkness of our world--
From what now seems humdrum.
I'm building kingdom workers,
Launching precious gifts,
Each life a treasure in Your hands,
Not simply set adrift.
Help me to build within each heart
A zeal and love for You,
No more important task I have
Than this You've called me to.
