The Daily Merry-Go-Round
The merry-go-round that never ends
Controlling each new day,
The things we did just yesterday
Needs done again today.
Frustration rears its ugly head,
No progress yet in sight,
The meals, the laundry, must be done
Encompassing the night.
The housework and the taxiing
Requires so much time,
But other things I want to do...
There's mountains yet to climb.
Each day so like another
And my frustration grows,
I need the strength to just go on,
To live the dream God sows.
Yet God brings inspiration
Through all my endless days,
A golden field of sunflowers...
My heart is set ablaze.
Each tracks the movement of the sun,
Their heads raised to light's rays,
And with each morn, their blooms lift high
Expressing earthly praise.
Their seeds and oil, the stems and leaves,
Each used by God's design,
Though harvest time has not yet come
Their purpose, still divine.
In seeming praise and worship,
In waiting, blooms grow tall,
A beauty brought to all of us,
They haven't failed at all.
Just doing what they need to do
Each day their beauty blesses,
The blossoms track the sun above,
In blooms God's love expresses.
We each must bloom where planted
With heads raised to the Son,
There's purpose in each brand new day,
Fulfillment when day's done.
Our dreams lie safely in His hands,
Each day builds the foundation,
The future's in the here and now,
It's all a celebration.
