A seed of wise, intelligent repute
Exploring and digging all around
Looking for rich and fertile ground
But, sorry to say it flew away
Productive soil could nowhere be found.
Passing Thought hovered near
Searching for concepts coherent and clear
It waited for an invitation
Trembling with anticipation
But continued to roam for no one was home
It seemed they were all on vacation.
Fleeting Thought went flitting by
A musing moth or butterfly
Seeking for ideas sweet
To mull and ponder till replete
In dismay it flitted away
The cupboard was empty, no nectar to eat.
Random Thought then took a chance
Its cognitive muscles to enhance
To build upon its inspiration
Through hard work and concentration
With a sigh it passed on by
This vacuous, dreamy meditation.
Thought Provoking sauntered in
With a challenging tale to spin
Hoping to induce a fire
That would motivate and inspire
In a pout it strutted out
Finding all fuel had long expired.
I sit and out my window gaze
Thoughts drift by, a lethargic haze
In a stupor I sit unblinking
Introspective thoughts are shrinking
Then with a jerk I get to work
Hm, I wonder what I had just been thinking?
