Dip just a toe
into the ocean of inspiration.
Then dropping in your foot,
draw a circle and
watch the water whirl
into wide eddies
as you twirl your foot
round and round.

Put both feet into the water
and wade.
Kick a leg,
and see how the sun
makes rich colored gems
of the splashed droplets.

Step out farther
until you are waist deep
in the sparkling sea.
Go farther yet,
submerged up to your shoulders,
and hold onto earth
with your toes in the sand.

Now swim out to the deep.
Donít battle the current
of the waves
that carry you in
and out again,
transporting you to a distance
you had never thought to attain.

Let yourself rest in the power
and glide of the surging flow.
And when you go under,
come back up for air
and laugh aloud
with the exhilaration
of the ride.

Refreshed and energized,
saturated with the passion
of depths of inspiration,
walk confidently
back to the shore.

Lovely. Don't you want to just 'jump right in'? Great descriptions.

I never wanted to trust in a riptide for inspiration until now. Loved it.

What a great poem of "inspiration" through imagination. It was like being in a Disneyland for the mind, I was at that ocean! :)

You really caught it, Verna! This is great! And isn't that just the way it feels when you've written from God's heart?
Congratulations!
