Is there anything I own that I really wouldn’t miss?
Are the things that I consider most important in my life
A true and real reflection of the life I have in Christ?
Abundance as defined in the age we live today
Assumes that we should keep, instead of give away.
Assumes that we should cherish all the things that we now own
Assumes that we should covet, should be proud of our fine home!
While others less abundant live a life far less than ours
And we smile as we pass them in our fine and fancy cars.
Yet abundance for the Christian can’t be measured, can be sold
Abundance for a Christian isn’t in the things we hold.
Abundance for a Christian is believing in His word,
Is believing that He conquered, is believing that he’s heard
Every prayer from our lips, from our hearts and from our soul
Will deliver us the riches in amounts that we can hold
Will not give us more than we need, will not give us more to bear
Will not ever let us slip from his tender loving care.
Abundance for a Christian is not measured quite the same
For abundance to a Christian is believing in His Name!
He came to give us life, and abundant life at that
But He didn’t mean to say that our wallets would be fat.
The life that He refers to, is the Greek word which is “Zoe”
And it means the principle of life in the spirit and the soul.
The things that can’t be seen, not the things of flesh and blood
A life that is eternal, full of grace and full of love.
To measure ones abundance as they like to do today,
Is simply not an option . . . for a Christian anyway!

the sixth couplet from the end 'Will not give us more...'Otherwise, fantastic.
Just for fun and to hook the reader in, you may want to try searching out all the words that repeat themselves and use a thesaurus to find interesting new ways of expressing the same thought. It'll jazz up your excellent verses even more!
Great job, Sue!
God made a covenant of increase with us! The devil works poverty and lack, that's what makes our wallets flat! PM me, OmniFool, on the boards for more info.
