There is so much happening now in America that is new to most of us.

The result is that we feel we are in a world we do not understand or know; but those of us who read the Scriptures should be able to identify the source and Source. This is a spiritual battle.

Since it is a spiritual encounter we must be aware of how to defend ourselves and how to combat the assailant.

This battle is not one we will win, because it has already been won. Does that seem to be an oxymoron?

Many of us, who name the name of Jesus, do not really understand what happened when He permitted His death on the Cross.

Jesus knew what He was doing and why it was necessary.

The Scriptures, which too many of us never read, tells us that He died for us by absolute necessity because of the sell out Adam made in doing what God had told him to NOT do, thereby giving Satan license to control us through his rebellious nature with which Adam and Eve, in holding hands of agreement with Satan, became slaves of that rebellious nature.

That rebellious nature is the basis of all sin on the earth.

God had to take a body like ours, become the Second Adam having the power within Him to resist the rebellious nature of our flesh, which for our sake He chose to share for our good, and when He died and rose again He laid a devastating deadly blow on Satan that forever incapacitated him; and Jesus’ Victory has already been won. It is a victory we are permitted to share!

Why then are there such horrors occurring on this earth?

Because some of us are still holding hands of agreement with the Devil and we have not let go of that agreement by turning to Jesus, then holding hands with Jesus in agreement. That act of turning to Jesus is called “repentance.” It is turning around; it is going on a different path.

In Jesus is the Power to be the Victor over anything we encounter on this earth. We don’t have power in our own natural being, since we come to this world still like Adam # 1, but He, Adam # 2 gives to us His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, Who becomes the Power we need to OVERCOME the enemy.

The Holy Spirit is our Defender, Protector, constant Companion and wisdom Giver and all we need to live right and live untouched by evil.

So, our required engagement in this battle is to stand firm in what we know…GOD WINS EVERY TIME! AND it is our duty and delight to proclaim it, out loud. WORDS matter in the realm of the spirit world, of which we are apart, so we must take careful note of our words.

This is not an exercise in applied denial: NO, it is reality.

When the persons who have given themselves to the Dark World come together they do many things to honor Satan. But they cast their “spells” by words. Satan knows how things work in the spirit realm.

Those words they chant cannot penetrate the Blood of Jesus that is applied to every person who has asked Him to come into their hearts and lives.

Jesus, time and again advised us that we must not fear but we are to live in faith. We can live in faith because He has already won the fight.

All we do is stand firm in what Jesus has already done, repeating what God says in His Word. The power against the evil realm is in the blood of Jesus and in God’s spoken Word.

AND, as Jesus also warned, do not be a partaker in the works of the flesh: lying, stealing, killing, gossiping, slander, disobedience to parents and authority, indulgent in excesses, perversions in our sex lives, dishonoring God, Who is our Life Giver and Protector.

In a capsule: we give ourselves to Jesus and then live in the manner He requires; then we are on the Winning Team.

Agreement; we must agree with God!

We must, “Look to Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of our faith,” Who has already won the battle and Who has never quit the race.

Stand firm. That is the most difficult thing we have to do, but we best learn the Word of God which IS The Sword of the Spirit and is our battle cry.

A well written piece. Amen. I bet if you were before a congregation expressing those thoughts, God's Spirit would have them raising hands and praising Him. Good lesson.

Answer given, well written from the heart and as you said we need the Holy Spirit for help and comfort and it is eagerly a gift given to us as we are baptized for the forgiveness of our sin.
