Shuffling through snail mail One tired Friday night Davis Sloan noticed a small corner of an official looking envelope. “Probably won a billion dollars again” He grinned. The mailing appeared to be the skin of the typical con game letter. But it was not. The note inside changed Davis Sloan’s life and a whole lot of others.
It read…
“A member of our ministry is in your neighborhood tonight. Will you receive him as your guest?”
“Call this number xxx-xxx-xxxx to confirm. In the Blessing, J.C.
“Utter nonsense!” Davis laughed at himself for being sucker enough to even read… But he could not halt his mind from tossing thoughts about the content. He dialed. A voice he knew picked up on the first ring.
He recognized that voice. “Can’t be real it is a recording, a scam… He ended the call. While frowning his disappointment, his phone rang. It was that voice again. Davis was ready to rip into the con. The front door bell defused his displeasure. He looked out the peep hole at Mr. X standing under the amber porch light orbited by a squadron of moths and other multi-legged bugs.
The real name of Mr. X is confidential for now. He is a Gospel celebrity evangelist prophet. As he explained, “Fame is a blessing and a curse. It can interfere with the ministry or take it in quantum leaps to the highest level…”
“ Our anointed purpose at the GIA is getting together for special prayer. God Himself is always present. Heck it’s his gig. He created this organization by singularly reaching out to each and every original member. We then formed sort of a core member group and now we are recruiting others who understand.”
“Understand?”
“Yes, by understand I mean one who has crucified his evil desires by accepting god’s grace through Jesus Christ on the cross and found out that everything is so amazingly possible with love- faith and the right prayer. God, and I mean GOD! The Holy One of Israel shares with us critical needs. We pray about them and anything else that our hearts put forth. It’s awesome beyond anything you can ever imagine on your own. “
“There is an urgency as time winds down for believer’s to have their heart’s re-charged and begin to devalue the things of the world and yield totally to the Lord. You Davis have done that. “
“ How would you know?”
“We are the GIA, remember?” He said wearing a brotherly grin. “There is more stuff we don’t talk about because these things are for the spiritually advanced who take the supernatural as the prime medium and method in conjunction with the Bible to communicate with God through Jesus Christ. “
“Nothing ever gets accomplished by the “religious” among us. Though for sure much is destroyed by them. For instance, realities such as sound wave healing, time travel and pineal activation. would be considered heresy accompanied with shouts of Cult, Cult, Beware the Cult……”
“That is why we practice things we know to be true, though others would call it foolish. The truth always stirs up controversy. Boy does it! So unfortunately, this is why much of our TV audience will remain in the dark about such things for now.”
“You have been given an opportunity to join the most potent effective prayer team in history. You will experience things that will amaze and humble to the extreme. You will not be the same as you are now. This is the effect that meeting with GOD has on all of us. “
“ Davis, will you come to our meetings? Will you become a member of the GIA?
“How could I refuse?
“Glad you said that, there is no room at the GIA for fear, none at all.”
“How about YOU reader. Bored doing your own thing? Making excuses for yourself and God? We are strongest when we are weak. It’s time to yield all to GOD and get in the game.”
“Please be looking for that envelope in the mail.”
