Topic: GATHERING (07/14/16)
In the darkness, shadowy figures danced around the bonfire in the field adjacent to my home. From my viewpoint, it wasn't clear what was happening. Should I move closer? Or should I run? Stories of the Ku Klux Klan came to mind. Was that organization still in existence?

I crept nearer.

Each person held a small rectangle shape in their hand. Inching closer, I realized I was witnessing a dance involving mobile phones. What on earth would cause people to congregate in the dark and glorify their phones? Soon the words they were calling out became clear.

They were naming monsters they had captured. This was a celebration of hunters.

Chills raced up and down my spine. Something was very wrong here. Quickly I distanced myself from the crowd. Even though I bolted my door, I did not feel safe. A flashback from 20 years ago entered my mind, my granddaughter pacing the floor in my house, agitated and anxious. As I remembered that scene, an uneasy feeling arose in the pit of my stomach. She had confessed that day she had demons she knew by name, but they didn't want me to know them.

The outcome had been victorious, but the journey revealed truths of which I had been unaware.

A fight between good and evil is escalating in our world. And sometimes we inadvertently provide open doors or display welcome signs for that evil to infiltrate our lives. As we helped our granddaughter find deliverance, we dealt with the list of possibilities. A name on that list had been new to me.

Pokémon.

Now it's back bigger and stronger than ever. Pokémon Go mania is flooding the world. Injuries and robberies are occurring. Personal data is now being accessed by the program to do with as it pleases. As millions of fans join the hunt, the scope of its outreach is mind-boggling.

Churches are even advertising they have Pokémon inside.

I'm not an alarmist. I don't stand on the street corner shouting the end is near. But due to my experience dealing with the evil in my granddaughter, I have grave concerns about what is happening in the minds and spirits of some of our young people. Not everyone is as vulnerable as she was. There are solid homes producing well-grounded children. It's the other ones from broken homes; abused, defeated and lonely. They provide fertile ground where the evil can grow.

It's not just an innocent game.

Very well said. Pokemon Go is a subtle, evil-invoking "game" that lead people to dangerous situations. Thank you for writing on this subject. I don't think enough people are aware of the hidden dangers. Well done.
