Did you know that the human brain has the capacity to hold as much memory as what exists on the entire Internet? This is mind-boggling! Like a computer, the human body contains many parts that work together as one unit. The brains of a computer is its central processing unit. Humans have a central processing unit…the brain.

Our brains guide and direct us using millions of neuron cells that maintain our bodies properly. For example, arteries carrying life-giving blood to vital organs. As God created our brains, He linked us with Him, and continues to improve our capabilities if we obey his commands. "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) NIV. Similarly, a computer's main circuit board, is called a "motherboard." It handles memory, sound, video display, and a variety of controllers. When the computer is turned off though, some components are lost, and need refreshing again.

Is your computer User-friendly? Is it easy to install and update, and easy to navigate? Is it protected by a good anti-virus software? These are questions that also apply to our human bodies. You can upgrade a computer in many ways: expansion slots, more memory, or sophisticated software. Our bodies, likewise, need food, vitamins, light, water, and protective medicines to keep us running efficiently.

Just like humans come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, desktop computers and laptops have diversity too with colors, models, textures, and sizes. They can produce symphonies, paint pictures, enhance photographs, and even write poetry. An article written by Joshua Rothman, says “A well designed computer might facilitate thinking and creativity…but a computer can't be, in itself, a work of art, because it carries no message and has no point of view. A computer is more like a musical instrument than a piece of music." Unlike computers, our DNA carry a message that “we are made in the image of God” which brings a special meaning and intelligence that inanimate objects lack." (Genesis 1:26) NIV

Computer search engines rely on finding the right path using root directories, sub-directories and file folders. Whether it is modifying a program, finding a location on a map, or interpreting a foreign language. After researching this fascinating aspect, I found a simple explanation.

“A computer cannot think "out of the box."

The dictionary defines this term as an idea generation or problem solving that is not constrained by self-imposed limits or conventional barriers. Computers have to follow the rules their programmers instill in them. It is not natural for them to ask, "Why do people love each other?" or "Why am I here?" They will not be able to discover the real truth behind God's Plan unless they have a soul.

Elizabeth Armstrong Moore states in a CNET blog that, “a single human brain has more switches than all the computers and routers and Internet connections on Earth.” While a computer can enhance life to balance your checkbook, introduce you to new friends, or discover brilliant ideas or solutions, “can these incredible devices give you peace beyond all understanding?” Philippians 4:7 (KJV).
