"Daddy, don’t you need some more, wood to finish this table?" asked the son
"Yes son, could you go and get some of the planks that are at the back of the house?" asked the father.
The young man walked quickly and got the wood and started to cut and get them ready so that his father could finish the work soon. His father only told him to get the wood, but he cut the planks to the right size and polished them, so all that the father had to do was to just fix it. He did all the hard work. The father thought how nice it would have been if his other children also helped him like this son. He looked up to his heavenly father and thanked Him for giving them this child who was so special.
Days went by and it was a lovely spring morning. The father was sitting and relaxing in the front of his house when he saw his favorite son walking in after his morning walk. “How are you, my dear son?” he asked.
“I am fine, daddy. May the God of heaven be with you always,” he said bowing his head reverently.
“Is there something you want to tell me son?” asked the father seeing him still standing there.
“Yes, daddy, I am starting my other job today and I have to leave right now,” he said.
“May the heavenly father be with you always, may His angels watch over you and take care of all your needs, my precious son. Come home and visit us whenever you can,” he said with tears streaming down his face as he hugged him.
After wishing his mother who also blessed him, he said bye to his siblings and walked out of the house to a new place.
He travelled over hills and valleys by himself till he found some people who became his friends as soon as he called them. They were so fond of him that they stayed with him all the time.
He became a great teacher and taught the people how to live a good life. People came to him from all over the place and stayed there the whole day listening to his words of wisdom. Intellectuals were surprised of his great wisdom and people flocked around him day and night. Little children came to him gladly and sat on his lap as he talked to their parents. He was not only a great teacher but also a great physician who could heal people with all kinds of diseases in no time. He was a travelling teacher a mobile healer and also a fearless exorcist!
He was a great miracle doer also. Once there was a gathering where the men alone were five thousand in number. There was no food because they were far away from the city but here was one little boy who had five small loaves and two small fish. This teacher took that small package and prayed and fed all the people and there were twelve baskets of loaves and fish left over.
This travelling preacher turned water to grape juice when there was a shortage in a wedding feast and his mother asked him to help with the problem. He healed leprosy on the spot, spoke a word and healed the blind and the deaf, raised the dead with his word and also with a touch, He calmed the stormy sea, walked on water and healed all kinds of diseases.
The people in the church did not like him because he helped and preached the right doctrines to the rich and the poor and told that he was the son of God. They were so jealous of him that they wanted to kill him. They made all kinds of false accusations, treated him badly and crucified him. But he arose on the third day and is in heaven now and will come back to take us to be with him!
