Along a path of destruction
I thought I knew
The best way to go
I couldn’t have been more wrong
I was stuck
In a cycle of oppression
Seemingly no hope
Of ever overcoming
Of ever being strong
I was on Rebel Road
Going way too fast
Toward a destiny
Where I could have been
Forever lost
Then one day
I met someone
Who revealed to me
The consequence of my direction
And helped me weigh the cost
Urging me
To take a better road
He showed me the map
That pointed to The King’s Highway
Where the toll is free he said
I didn’t know
How best to make the exit
But I knew something had to change
So I took his hand
And faithfully was led
This new road
Isn’t always easy
But I know it comes with a promise
Of a destination that's sure
So happily I'll travel it
For I have learned
That my way
Results in road blocks, detours
And endless loops of going nowhere
I'm ready now to commit
No more Rebel Road for me
I choose The King’s Highway

I think a few punctuation marks would have helped with readability.
