Day One there was light
Man and earth creatures Day Five
And God rested
Lazy cat lying in sunlight
A stretch, a yawn, a roll over
Now rest for the remainder of day
Except for food
A bone, a toy, a wagging tail
Ready for play or walk
Laps are okay too
Tongue protruding from a smile
A flick of a tail
A spread of the claws
A stretch, a yawn, a roll over
Another needed rest
Ears alert, a distant sound
Tail high, paws on the ready
Streak to the gate, it’s time
Daddy’s home!
Daddy’s home?
Meal time coming
A stretch, a yawn, slowly peeking eyes
A roll over, alert for can opener
A pat, a face lick
Circling fur awaiting a ball throw
A pat, a face lick
Fetch
The sunlight made for warmth
Day One was good
Coupled with Day Five
Good combination – purr
Panting, drooling
It’s been fun
Man and dog united
One
Cat and sunlight
One
Only after food eaten
Then One
Man’s best friend
He loves them both
One
And One
