down upon us from the sky
the rainbow-diadem Creator
does shine His brightest light
it is that Bright Morning Star
that shines much brighter now
it glistened to the angels' dance
on the resurrection morn
now when there's laughter under heaven
He joins that mirth and song
sea creatures know this truth so well
as He swims along with them
and down in the deep among its life
in the depths of the sapphire seas
He bobs and turns and twists with them
and wallows in their fun
now heaven's treasure chest
is open wide to all
it pours its richness over us
and opens up our eyes
and now we count among this trove
all these treasures as below:
the golden cornfield waving to the wind
the ruby setting of the sky's retiring sun
the verdant meadows and emerald woodlands
the silver shimmering of the sea sparkling in the moonlight
the snow capped mountains with diamond sharp points piercing the clouds
the faceted flower heads dancing and bobbing in the gentle breeze
the dawn chorus of our jewelled feathered friends singing praise to their Maker
the golden gurgling of the beautiful babe in its mother's arms
the laughter of colourful children playing their games
the sterling love between a young fellow and his maid
the beauty of Jesus the Bright Morning Star, the Saviour of the World!
for all of this we praise you Lord!
