It's an astonishing lukewarm response to the Resurrection holiday:
Today is Good Friday, so what? while stadiums are filled across the U.S.A.;
Saints scurry to the malls like rodents programmed to navigate a maze;

Never thinking twice about spending too much money on the latest craze.
Oh, but Pastor, you-don’t-understand we gotta look good on Easter, right?
Tell us this dress or suit looks good—why not, it’s almost Christian-like?

Justification leads to motivation which leads to activation—acting on impulse:
Understand: if we saw ourselves with the mind of Christ we’d be repulsed.
Selfish spending our time and money on ourselves is just dead wrong:
Telling ourselves if we don’t buy this or that Easter thing we won’t belong.

Americans love their long weekends and holidays, it’s a sacred cow to us;
Never in our history have we had so many days off and worked less and less;
Offended by anyone who suggests we give up our time off for ourselves:
Tell us this is a mistake, otherwise we'll quit and work less for someone else.
Help us to realize, Lord, how much You do love us and died upon that cross:
Easter is a time of celebration, of victory—eternal life was gained for the lost.
Resurrection Sunday should be the pivotal day of every Christian in America:

Help us to remember Easter, Father, everywhere from California to Florida.
Obedience is so much greater than sacrifice—help us to obey Your Word:
Love people and do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.
Imminently, Jesus is returning for His church ready to meet Him in the air:
Declare your allegiance by repenting and being born again, because He cares.
Allow God’s love to flow to the precious souls you encounter every day;
Yield yourself to the resurrecting Holy Spirit: it’s NOT just another holiday!

This was well crafted and quite clever. It's true that many of us worry about the wrong things. I definitely need to be reminded of that every so often. I'm getting better about not spending too much money on the holidays but it is something I still need to work on.
