Topic: Persuasion (not about the book) (09/01/11)
Gazing at the paper
and heeding the news
the conditions around me,
could leave me with the blues
but I shall, instead of fretting
or feeling so downcast,
come to the one who cares
His word will always last...

As I know the power
Of prayer-suasion
where obedience and faith
are the equation
my worries bundled up in twine
of crimson saving grace,
I lay at Jesus’ feet
and seek His precious face

I have these promises
given by the Lord
that nothing, death nor life,
could ever cut the cord
that binds me to my Father, God
no principality,
no angels or powers
has dominion o’er me

The present or future
depth or altitude
fall to the wayside as my
prayers find latitude
I shall trust in Thee, my Father
where sweet consolation
is found in the one who
lay the very foundation

Along the path I stroll
the miles ahead I trod
I may not always see
this journey home to God
but I can still have victory
knowing He is there
and all I have to do
is go to Him in prayer….

For there is power
In prayer-suasion…...

Oh I do like poems and I liked this one very much. I've tried to write poems, but have had little success. So I'll have to rely on writers like you for my daily poem nourishment. Thank you.

My heart resonates to the foundational truths here expressed in lovely poetic expression: that prayer and our identity in Christ are the only sure things in life and this fallen world. No matter our circumstance we have assurance in Christ our future is brighter than anything we can imagine. Janice, you have the heart of a poet. I thank the Lord many can be lifted by your writng.
