First day.
Second day.
Third day.
Days following.
The earth was pure, formless and void. He called life and creation into being. The days were birthed into existence. First day, second day, third day, fourth day and onwards as life was called to life.
God created man and set him in paradise. He crafted every necessary comfort—even a companion.
“I love you.”
So God told them the truth—what to eat and what to leave.
Week after week.
One week.
Two weeks.
Three weeks.
Time passed.
Paradise was ripped in two. Perfection was shredded away. A harsher reality tore at the fabric of love.
Suddenly, He could not talk to them. He could not speak words to help them understand—words of love, hope, peace and strength.
“I love you,” God wanted to say.
Then He thought of a way to speak to them again.
Alters. Sacrifices. Rules.
Structure to the structure-less.
Because He loved them.
Month after month.
One month.
Two months.
Three months.
Time passed. Things continued to change.
Years filled faster than before, it seemed.
Traditions changed. Beliefs waned. Rituals became taboo.
It wasn’t important to them.
But God still loved them.
“I love you,” He whispered. “Listen.”
And so He sent his son.
Year after year.
Year one.
Year two.
Year three.
More years on top of more years.
Jesus grew in favor and stature with God and men. The message was spread and hope was delivered in a very different way.
God smiled as He said, “I love you.”
Time changed as ends drew near. The love spoken, became clear as too much had happened and a fresh start was needed. In a solitary walk, surrounded by many, a cross was carried to Calvary.
Surrounded by two, watched by all, a plaque strung overhead Jesus' bleeding head.
As He turned His back on His own son, God said “I love you.” Still.
Century after century.
One century. One hundred years.
Two centuries. Two hundred years.
Three centuries. Three hundred years.
Time is still traveling.
When it was over, little remained.
Three nails. One crown with hateful, cruel spikes to drive in hateful, cruel words. Two long beams of wood, weathered, splintered and rough.
Proof. History. Souvenirs—almost.
In a tomb prepared with care, no one is there.
Folded grave clothes, a rolled stone and an angel’s invisible footprints.
Hope.
God smiled and said “I love you.” Still.
Century.
Centuries.
Onward to forevermore.
The story is retold as history repeats itself—mankind is still learning.
But amidst the rush, the bustle and the hustle of stressful lives, He whispers words He will always say. He never forces them on deaf ears. It is up to every person to choose to hear them.
“I love you.”
A tough love that will not give. A gentle love that will not leave. A forever love, even when it hurts to breathe. Etched in stone, carved in crystal and scribed on the soul of every human being.
“God loves you.”

That was brilliant! And the way you carried that pace throughout the piece, few words/much said -- Oh, I LOVED this one. And I am ever so grateful that His love has carried us through the centuries and will continue forevermore.
Bravo to you for the boldness of format and expression. All too often, writer's stick to the "box" they write in, worried about the "i's" and the "t's" (rules and regs). It is your refreshing creativity and boldness that makes for a writing to remember.
