In a faraway land,
Trying to be Jesus’ hands.
Devastation:
Observing how they live,
What help could I possibly give?
Desperation:
Coming in multitudes,
For medicine, water and food.
Such confusion:
They’re dying to be heard,
But all I hear are jumbled words.
Tribulation:
Each has their own story,
Help me to interpret their pleas.
Revelation:
Just look into their eyes,
Listen to the sound of their cries.
Show affection:
A hug, a loving lap,
A touch can bridge the language gap.
Jubilation:
Little smiles filled with joy,
At the prospect of one small toy.
Admiration:
Of all the gifts we bring,
They marvel at the smallest things.
Consolation:
Parents’ eyes show relief,
Just to know their children will eat.
Comprehension:
Though words may be unknown,
The smiles and tears are like our own.
God’s Creation:
All people big and small,
Love can be understood by all.
