enduring soft echoes of Creation’s voice,
played on strings of starlight harps
by ethereal angels as they rejoice.
they say the whales sing songs at sea,
beckoning others to sing along,
to reach beyond the vast unseen,
to become as one, this chorus strong.
they say the trees sing in the summer breeze,
the rustling maple, the whispering pine,
all brought to life by the breath of the wind,
just one of the hymns of nature’s design.
they say the birds are known by the call they make,
a melody specific to the soul of their kin,
they fill the air with their language of praise,
a message of beauty from a place deep within.
they say that angels do sing in heavenly places,
with words of a language that all understand,
a song filled with glory and beautiful grace,
that falls to the earth, whatever the land.
so whatever the words we’ve learned from our birth,
it is still God’s music that makes us one earth.
