Some take to biting and chewing their nails.
For me, I confess, when stress does abide,
I simply stop breathing but take it in stride.
For prior to falling and hitting the ground,
Within me I hear, a powerful sound.
Remember to breathe and then start to pray,
There’s always an answer to find a new way.
I’ll never forget that very first time,
In panic I stopped, to heed this new chime.
I took a deep breath and said a quick prayer,
And now I declare, it spared me despair.
I once had a husband, intemperate was he,
All excuses he’d scorn, to please him was key.
Morning had come, clean underwear sought,
A duty forgot; my breathing did stop.
Remember to breathe and then start to pray,
There’s always an answer to find a new way.
So off to the dryer to freshen the old,
He never did know that his wife was so bold.
