ADD TO MY FAVORITES
Better still to give your time;
But best of all to give out truth,
God’s life-changing Word divine.
Words spoken to a child are good;
To hear his words, a better quest.
Perceiving thoughts beneath his words,
Blending heart to heart is best.
It’s good to have a host of friends,
Better, one friend who is true;
Yet, best to simply be a friend,
Always there the whole way through.
Good intentions speak well in life,
Deeds speak yet a better word;
When the two, melded, speak as one,
The best, clearest voice is heard.
Kind feelings are good, fuzzy, warm,
Better, feelings that endure;
Best of all, the depth of feeling
That holds and cares, firm and sure.
Worldly wealth in itself is good,
Better, inner wealth with peace;
And best is wealth, content, in joy
Resting on what will not cease.
Discerning the things that differ
Calls for frequent, careful test.
May God grant His people wisdom
To know good, better, and best.
